Lee Valley Velodrome Track Session
Excitingly, I've managed to secure a much coveted club session at the London Olympic Velodrome for Saturday 9th March 4 - 6pm. These are coached sessions where you get the opportunity to try riding on the velodrome with no previous experience (even of fixed wheel riding) required.
The session will normally be comprised of two alternating groups with the content of the session dependent on those taking part. If you are just starting out the first part will be riding around the blue on the inside getting confident on the fixed wheel before moving slowly up on to the track and eventually up above the blue line. It is one of the most exhilarating things you can do on a bike and you DO NOT have to be able to ride super fast to stay upright!
The club sessions are offered at a discount to the normal hire fees which, being an international sporting venue, are not cheap hence why they are in high demand.
The cost of the coached session will be a maximum of £28 per person. Bike hire costs £13 (if you are bringing your own track bike it needs to obey some conditions) and hire of Look Keo cleated shoes is £9 (they do not allow changing of pedals) making a round £50 if everything is required.
I need a minimum number of people to make this viable and I need to accept or decline the session by Saturday 25th November. If I decline we may not get another opportunity. Please could you indicate below if you are interested and please bear in mind the recently announced GC training camp which is 2 days later in responding but obviously I would highly recommend you come along if your are able.
